Downtown Grand Rapids Classic + Timeless Wedding

Lauren and Kyle’s day was really one for the books. They met at Western Michigan University in the music program and haven’t looked back since. I knew Lauren from several years ago when we had the same summer job, so what a joy it was to reconnect over something to really celebrate rather than working our butts off in a sweaty little wood shop! 

This wedding day was full of all the great emotions. I’m sure everyone’s cheeks were sore from smiles and chapped from tears by the end of the night, and that is such a testimony to the love that Kyle and Lauren share. Over their relationship, they have walked through several dark times together that involved losing too many loved ones, but it obviously only strengthened their love, care and commitment for not only each other but for their tribe around them. 

 This wedding was perfectly set in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan at St. Cecelia Music Center. I cannot express enough how much of a hidden gem this venue is! Everything from the moody stage for a ceremony space to the incredible art, archways and staircases that just decorate the place perfectly, I could shoot this venue over and over and over again. And it was just the perfect fit for these two musically gifted love birds! Their dance floor was dreamy with a live jazz band during cocktail hour and their special dances and then it was absolutely off the charts when a friend of theirs literally spun records all night long. I’m convinced these are the coolest people I know.
