Wedding at Dreams Riviera Resort in Cancún, Mexico

Drew and Stephanie are the definition of Main Character Energy. Their wedding in Cancun, Mexico was nothing short of a total fiesta. 

These two first and legally tied the knot back home in Grand Haven, Michigan so some family members who couldn’t travel south could witness their nuptials. It was an intimate ceremony that was just a taste of what was to come. 

When we arrived, my husband and I landed during tropical storm Nadine. It was raining so hard that we legitimately could not see our hands in front of our faces if we tried. The first two days there was on again, off again rain but we breathed easy since the wedding wasn’t scheduled until Monday and we had a couple of days to let the heavy clouds pass. 

Being in Mexico, we were all terrified of the heat that was going to be after us on wedding day. Of course we didn’t want our bride to feel like her fresh and beautiful face of make up was melting off or to feel uncomfortable in her dress. Let me tell you, we were met with so much luck on wedding day. During the ceremony, we had complete cloud coverage that made for dreamy lighting for photos, no rain, and the heat was totally managable. We were so grateful! 

The ceremony was absolutely stunning as seagulls flew freely in the background. There was a mariachi band that joined us for cocktail hour on the same rooftop that Drew and Stephanie said “I Do” on. The reception was a total party with a full dance floor, a cigar bar, and the ocean waves crashing in the background. Seriously, one of the most beautiful weddings I’ve ever shot. I wish I could relive it! 

Drew and Stephanie’s love really is grand, especially with all the trial and tribulation they’ve journeyed through together. The size and energy of the party was a great reflection of what these two really deserved on their wedding day.
